Politics Sin Compromiso
About
For decades, stepping into public service as a Black, Queer, Latine or otherwise intersectional person has come with some compromise. You’re expected to change the way you talk, the way you dress, and the way you think in order to mold yourself into what people want from their leader.
But who says that’s what people want from their leaders?
Hailing from California’s Central Valley we’ve heard over and over that what the Central Valley community wants are traditional, conservative politicians. But as team hecho orgullosamente en Stockton, CA., we know first-hand that our community is hungry for more diverse leaders with radically authentic, intersectional, and nuanced stories. And so we’re committed to telling those stories.
House of Zapata is a QWOC-owned political consulting firm that collaborates with BIWOC, Queer and intersectional candidates and aspiring change-makers to reshape the face of California politics––and beyond. From building campaign strategies and organizing civic engagement opportunities to providing creative services like photography and graphic design we’ve successfully supported policy makers through every step of their public service journey. And we’ve got the experience, the connections and the audacity to support you through yours.
Our House Platform
-
Keep It Real
We get you elected. Not an idea of you. Not a palatable version of you. But the whole of you. Because people want to elect people who understand them and who have similar experiences and values as them. So we’ll always remain true–to your values, your story, your beliefs and your goals––and fight to make sure that the people who represent us, represent us.
-
Lead With Humanity
At its core, public service is just people leading, helping and supporting other people. So we’re committed to bringing humanity back to politics, tapping into the community to make sure that the candidates and policies we support speak directly to what they actually need.
-
Be Fearless in Your Pursuit
Change only happens when good people have the audacity and resilience to demand it. Over and over. Even when it's hard. Even when it’s unpopular. Even when it goes against the systems that have existed for decades. And we’ll stand by you, ten toes down, to help you fight, demand, and build.
